As the days go by and I realize that people are so very different, I also learn to appreciate that we also have varying opinions of "success". For me, it is the moment when a child uses the fork to spear a brussel sprout on her tray and puts it in her mouth, chews and swallows it. When a boy lays down, snuggles their blanket and closes their eyes at nap time. When a tiny child, looks at you and shakes their head to confirm, Yes, they are hungry.
These may be nothing moments to another person...but to me, to these children that I have cuddled, changed, taught ABC's and to read...these are my credentials, my success. And I love it! :-)
